This privacy policy explains how Andover Self Drive (ASD) use any personal information we collect about you. This Policy applies to our use of any and all Data collected by us in relation to your use of the Web Site and any Services or Systems therein. means the website that you are currently using ( and any sub-domains of this site unless expressly excluded by their own terms and conditions.


Data Collected

We collect information from you when booking a vehicle hire. This information will enable us to complete your booking and contact you in the event of any problems. ASD will ask for any of the following information;

  • Name

  • Date of Birth

  • Gender

  • Address and postcode

  • Telephone number and email address

  • Job Title

  • Employer name and address

  • Driving licence details

  • Other ID (e.g.utility bill, bank statement)

The website will also collect IP address, web browser type and version, operating system, a list of URLS starting with a referring site, your activity on this Web Site and cookie information automatically.

Data collected directly from the customer in connection with a vehicle hire may occur from any of the following methods;

  • ASD website

  • A phone call made to the ASD office

  • In person

  • Information systems (please note ASD do not request, require or process and information stored in such devices)

Information Systems

Some of our vehicles are equipped with information systems (e.g. bluetooth, sat nav etc.) that may store data should you connect your mobile device to it. If you chose to connect your mobile device via bluetooth or cable then the system may store information including device names, contacts, text messages, emails, call logs and any routes or destinations. Should you connect your device to the information system in any of our vehicles, it is your responsibility to remove any data held as we cannot guarantee the privacy practices of ASD under these circumstances. We suggest resetting the system back to its original factory settings prior to returning the vehicle  to avoid your personal data being misused. Data Security

Data security is of great importance to ASD and to protect your data we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure Data collected online.We will protect your personal data from unauthorised use, theft or disclosure and will not sell your data to third parties. We maintain appropriate safeguards, including physical and electronic, to protect your data at all times.

Data Usage

Any personal Data you submit will be retained by Andover Self Drive for as long as you use the services and systems provided on the website. We retain your data for the purpose it was collected only for as long as it is required or is allowed by law.

Unless we are obliged or permitted by law to do so your data will not be disclosed to third parties. All personal Data is stored securely in accordance with the principles of the Data Protection Act 1998. Any or all of the above Data may be required by us from time to time in order to provide you with the best possible service and experience when using our website.   • To contact you in the event of an insurance claim, penalty notice, vehicle damage, monies owed or other issues resulting from the vehilce rental

  • improvement of our products / services

  • If opted in, transmission by email of promotional materials that may be of interest to you

  • If opted in, contact for market research purposes which may be done using email, telephone, fax or mail.  

ASD will only share information provided with service providers, such as the DVLA, where you have consented to the sharing or for the purpose of the transaction. It may be necessary to share personal data for legal reasons as we believe necessary and appropriate including the following;

  • Legally required to do so or during legal processes

  • For detecting or preventing a serious crime

  • Under applicable law, including laws outside your current of residence

  • To process and handle claims for damages, including bodily injuries or property damage

  • In response to requests from government/authorities

  • To recover vehicles, property or monies due

  • To enforce the terms of the rental agreement

  • To protect our rights, privacy, property or safety including you or others

Third Party Web Sites and Services

Andover Self Drive may, from time to time, employ the services of other parties for dealing with matters that may include, but are not limited to, payment handling, delivery of purchased items, search engine facilities, advertising and marketing. The providers of such services do have access to certain personal data provided by users of this website. Any data used by such parties is used only to the extent required by them to perform the services that Andover Self Drive requests. Any use for other purposes is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, any data that is processed by third parties must be processed within the terms of this policy and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Changes of Business Ownership and Control

Andover Self Drive may, from time to time, expand or reduce its business and this may involve the sale of certain divisions or the transfer of control of certain divisions to other parties. Data provided by Users will, where it is relevant to any division so transferred, be transferred along with that division and the new owner or newly controlling party will, under the terms of this policy, be permitted to use the data for the purposes for which it was supplied by you.

In the event that any data submitted by users will be transferred in such a manner, you will not be contacted in advance and informed of the changes. When contacted you will be given the choice to have your data deleted or withheld from the new owner or controller.

Access to your data

You have the right to access any data ASD hold for you and review or update this information as required. You can also request to have this information removed as long as it is not required in connection with a current or future vehicle hire. To prevent unauthorised access to your data we will require proof of identity before releasing any personal information and we reserve the right to impose certain restrictions or requirements.

You can withdraw your consent at any time to stop ASD processing or accessing your information in line with Article 7 of the General Data Protection Regulations - exemptions to certain information apply.
